Re: D+D? Who plays?

I don't have the money for Warhammer, Pirates, or Magic any more, but Munchkin is an easy investment, and D+D, well, you can just keep playing.

Re: D+D? Who plays?

Um. I would prefer describing it as, they didn't put any rules in the WAY of RP. Yes, the rules handle combat really well. But if you want to talk with the kobolds instead of killing them, talk to them, and the DM can choose to have you make Diplomacy checks or something. Or not- If you're convincin...

Re: D+D? Who plays?

Ah, the glory days of Thac0. I think I was about 10 back then.

4E has a short learning curve (it's easy to pick up) but has loads of tactical complexity. IE: wizard casts a Thunderwave doing damage and pushing the target between the rogue and the fighter, so the rogue can backstab on his turn.

Re: Forget the Posleen...Zombies are where its at!

The last time I played a zombie game with Quinn, we were paying character versions of ourselves, and I was the only one without Firearms skill.

I'll have to see the rules.

Re: Roster updated

Somehow, I think there was a typo with Sfc. Randy Shughart. (57 combat actions?!)

Also, Knockout Value seems erratic. Some have 10, one person has 11, and everyone else is 40 or above. Did I just make a crappy character?

Aw, and here I just read through, and immidately thought I'd try the Honda Autonomous Projects Division. (Ah, Japaneese and their humanoid robots!)

Re: D+D? Who plays?

Ok I understood about half of that conversation.  Apart from the DAKKADAKKADAKKA!!!! bit.  Go the Orkz!  But I digress. So what's the deal with this 4E anyway?  Have they dumbed it down or made it streamlined or what?  I have to admit I'm not a big fan of Templates but that could be my prejudices a...

Re: D+D? Who plays?

Or you could play something good. (Don't get me wrong, fun can be had with DnD, but there are better ways to spend your money I reckon) *shrugs* depends on what you like to play, and what kind of group you're in. I know Sixtus prefers Saga Edition Star Wars, because it's more shooty. But 4E is simp...

Re: D+D? Who plays?

Considering the biggest legitimate complaint I've seen is it obsoleting librarys of 3.x material, if you're just getting started, you might as well do 4E, and get in on the ground floor.

Not to mention, 4E is just similar enough to confuse people who were experts at 3rd.

D+D? Who plays?

Having just picked up the latest suplement for 4E, I was wondering how many of you shooter fans are also fans of more traditional tabletop games? Having Insider on the Wizards site, I'd be perfectly willing to share some of the "hidden" material, such as Minotaur and Gnoll stats, or the Bard Preview...

Re: Aliens Board Game

Trick is in the second stage keep the door open and have Newt, Ripley and all the other two-action characters get out while either Apone or Hicks hold the door (combination of good fire and grenades works well). Around turn 20-22 the aliens stop spawning until turn 31. Then hold as long as you can,...
