Re: Mission 1 Turn 6: The Compartment

Mark pulled himself to the wreckage in slightly torn and mud-splattered clothing, a gift of tripping over the shrubbery around the lake and discovering perfusion of both jungle thorns and scraps of starship metal. Thankfully, no injury was sustained to him or the equipment, though it took him far an...

Re: Mission 1 Turn 3: Remnants

Much to Mark's annoyance, the call to hold positions lasted only long enough for him to start opening the case he was lugging around before the call to move came again. All the short starting and stopping had ended up with him having a lot fewer opportunities to upload their position to the lifeboat...

Re: Mission 1 Turn 2: Survival

Mark kicked back an instinctual acknowledgment and headed back to his seat. Sgt. Perez... It took him a moment to match the name and voice to their last encounter. He hadn't been a sergeant then, just a skilled grunt with a smart gun. Thinking about it brought back the ringing in his ears - that mis...

Re: Mission 1 Turn 1: Armageddon

Between the migraine and the impact of his unprotected head against the lifeboats minimal padding, Mark had very little recollection of the last fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes being all that had elapsed since his cryo-pod had hissed open high above the planet and the life-pod had impacted the surf...

Re: Prologue: The U.S.S. Shiloh

Mark's left hand drifted out of the cryogenic pod as it first hissed open. Reaching over, he felt around with practiced ease until his fingers closed on the pair of wrap-around sunglasses that he always stashed there to combat the post-freeze migraine that he always managed to wake up with. It was o...

Re: Recruiting Season 2019

Hello Corporal Hicks and the rest of the USCM. Thanks for the invitation back, and sorry everybody for dropping off those months ago. The new job really took a toll on my time, but I think I have things in order enough to get back into this RP. Looking forward to fighting with you all in the next ca...

Re: Chapter 1 A Bug Hunt

Mark exclaimed a jumbled, incoherent exclamation as he pressed himself back against the wall, not sure if he was happy or horrified that he hadn't even had a chance to detach his computer before the gunfire started. Even now having a few years experience of heavy, sustained weapons fire in tight ech...

Re: Chapter 1 A Bug Hunt

<Check successful> Mark's mind started to wander as he pried and disassembled the exterior door controls, taking him back over the rollercoaster transition from the 8s to the Dawgs. Even with all of the peculiar and occasionally "special" missions that the eights had been assigned, his mind had some...

Re: Chapter 1 A Bug Hunt

Mark nodded and made his way up through the Marines and up to the station door. Reaching the control lock, he started by checking the status indicators - not much point in forcing the issue if there was no air on the far side. Satisfied that he wasn’t going to kill them all off the bat, Giosso pulle...

Re: Chapter 1 A Bug Hunt

"Well," Giosso replied, starting to wonder about exactly that. He was good, but so were the Corps and they didn't always share information on their best toys with the Marines. "If I can't, we'll be stuck using Morse's door-openers at every room. However, if we can get into the main control room, I s...

Re: Chapter 1 A Bug Hunt

"All things considered, I think I'd rather deal with an overly secured station then a poorly secured one. At least the security measures should give us some kind of control and ability to monitor the situation. Might even get lucky and find the targets nicely boxed in." Mark took another sip of his ...

Re: Devil Dawgs Roll Call

Mark gently placed his duffel bag on the deck before stepping around it an lining up with the rest of the Marines (and thus, the yellow line.) "Mark Giosso, Lance Corporal, ELINT Operator. Also 2649, 2171, 622 and 689 qualified, sir." then, after a moment's pause, "er.. Chief." (OOC: I hope the prom...

Re: Seems we have turned Belly-Up!

This post was longer at first, but really, it all comes down to seconding what JR said. In my experience here, we do really well during the totally-unstructured time (like getting set up around the base) and really tight action (like the shoot-out in the kitchen). It's the in-between when we're scou...

Re: Seems we have turned Belly-Up!

Makes sense - you're assumed to follow the orders up the chain of command, of the GM moves you along to maintain the story. I recommend, really, Pale Rider think about how often he'd like to post. If we know the storyteller is going to "advance the plot" every given period of time, then the story ke...
