Roberts was panting hard now. He pulled off his respirator to get more air. He leaned over and put his hands on his knees.
"Talk to me Roberts. What are you feeling?" He asked, trusting his friends gut,
Roberts looked up when he heard the voice. He wasn't sure who it was but he recognized it. God it's hot in here. He saw Dirk standing in front of him, looking at him. Behind Dirk was a horrible disturbing creature, humanoid but hideous beyond belief. He raised his smart-gun.

"Dirk!!!" he shouted, "Move! Look out! AHHHHH!"

Roberts was shouting at Dirk but he was staring at Cpl. Sam.

Samantha turned to Roberts and was about to ask what was going on when the crazy transformation occurred with LCPL Oralando. Hearing Eric shout out to a not-there Dirk; she turned and saw him staring at her but not seeing her and she dove to the side and towards/behind him while yelling out; "GET CONTROL OF YOURSELF ERIC!"

If she lived thru the dive and roll; she'd leap in close to him so that she was inside the arc of the smartgun and yell out; "IT'S ME MON! DON'T FIRE!"

Clint watched as his squad leader flew the coop like the rest of his squad had. This is getting insane, he thought to himself as she ran down the hall after second squad. " Second, you have lance Orlando coming towards you crazy like the others," Clint warned over the comms.

(tag second squad)

That was when he picked up on Roberts mumbling something that sounded incoherent to him. Then he saw the smart gun raise up towards Sam as Roberts was talking to Dirk who wasn't even in the room. At that moment Clint pulled the stunner free and tried to stun Roberts with it from about 45 degrees off his back left. Please don't let me get chewed up by that smartgun, Clint prayed and thouht as he approached the smartgunner.

Roberts eyes darted back and forth like a crazy person. He panicked as Sam approached but held fire. He wouldn't give up the smart-gun.

The stunner put a jolt through him and he let go of the gun and Sam was able to pull it away. Eric fell to his knees and started crying. "Help me! Help..."

Terence was wondering what the hell was going on. Crap was happening faster than he could deal with it. He could hear Roberts and Corporal Pitt talking over comms but that wasn't his problem right now. Right now his main problem was whether or not he should be setting an ambush for Lance Corporal Orlando.

"Corporal Pitt, you want us to set up an ambush for the LC?" asks Terence over the comm.

A great howl rippled down the hallway followed immediately by the steady clicking whine of the motion tracker!

All sorts of options were going though Colson's head about how to handle this.

Muttering to himself as he slung his SMG, Colson stood in the middle of the corridor and braced himself to tackle the running marine. He might be able to take him down, although holding him down might not be so easy.

When he heard the howl he wasn't so sure. And which way did it come from? When the motion tracker pinged his hands twitched, wanting to have his gun in his hand. Still he held his ground and waited for the running Marine.

While there may have been some better way to handle the situation, Morse was as clear on the situation that was going on as they generally were. They knew nothing, strange circumstances were arising, and casualties were quickly appearing to be imminent. With all of those thoughts in mind, Morse made up his mind on how to handle the situation.

He cracked his knuckles, and stretched his arm. Though the feeling that came through the prosthetic leg was anything but natural, he knew that the industrial steel it was made of would hold him up very well if he needed to.

”Red eyes down.” Morse said, suggesting they use infrared to see him coming. ”Hope’is fuckers ready fer n’ ass kickin’.” Morse said, suppressing concerns he had about the wild howl. He’d kicked the hell out of marines before, he’d be willing to do it again.

Preparing to use his very durable M56 Smartgun as a beat stick, Morse formed up, his weapon still down range in the off chance that he was charging them armed with psychosis and a weapon.

This is going from bad to worse fast. Snake thought as he listened to the motion tracker. If the Marines that were just infected reacted with such speed, strength and fury.. What would the people that they had come to rescue be like.

"Get ready second. If that's a Marine coming at us I want to try to capture them. If it isn't. I don't want them near us. This looks like it's airborne and that means we're all going to end up like them. If it's contact I want to avoid that."

"LT, We might want to get to the command center after all. We might be able to get a clear picture of what's going on. Do you want second to move on or hold position"

A tall form began to take shape coming from the direction that the Marines who had been infected ran toward. It flitted in and out of the shadows only allowing for brief glimpses. It screamed again, much louder than would be expected from a human voice. Quicker then should have been possible it was on the Marines, arms raised to slash into them, hands the size of a shovel tipped with razor sharp claws.

With a wordless scream of his own Colston stumbled back from the monster as it came out the darkness at them, snatching at his SMG he swung it up and round. Squeezing the trigger he let loose a burst of rounds at the creature. He was going to stop firing till it was dead or he was.

Roberts face contorted with pain. His mind was a flurry of animalistic emotions and fears. Black ooze began to run from his eyes. "Please... cure me! You have to cure me! Help!" he begged Sam.

"Oh shit.. What the hell is that thing?" Dirk said as the nightmare took shape. He had fought the Xenos and won, but this thing was a horror from what looked like the depths of hell it's self.

Raising his M41A he took a quick aim at the creature and opened fire as he yelled to his squad. "Contact front! Contact front! Engage. Morse, kill that damn thing.
<Tag his squad and Morse>

His pulse rifle bucked as it sent a stream of 10 mm death at the creature, not sure if the M41A would be enough. He had not minded when he had been moved from smartgunner to squadleader and traded his big gun for the pulse rifle but this was one of those times that he wished for that extra power to hammer that thing back into the shadows that had spat it out.

The lights caught the figure coming down the hall. It was tall, it was rot colored, and was something that resembled the monstrous form of a demon out of a nightmare that Satan himself would have stir from a slumber at. It almost looked human, but was clearly something very far from it. It’s scream entered down to the core of Morse and the others, piercing through the air.

But Morse took note of only a few things, its speed and the claws on its hands. Morse, having been accused of being an animal himself, he lived up to the reputation to a small degree, acting to assess a threat the moment he noticed it.

”…What the fuck…” Morse muttered seeing it down the hall. He leveled his M56 Smartgun, which was already reading a target and simply waiting for Morse to press his thumb down on the rear trigger button to tear it to pieces.

Morse heard Dirk say only two words. “Morse, Kill…” the rest was irrelevant.

Morse pressed, depressed, pressed again, and again depressed, repeating the action over and over again, sending bursts of five rounds of the heaviest ordinance they were carrying flying down range with spectacular accuracy racing towards a center mass of the target.

There was a level of disassociation that Mark felt being in the APC. The metal walls and sound dampening lead to a particular feeling of safety – as though the threat was not really to him, just to his friends and colleagues outside. That feeling didn't make him feel particularly more comfortable at the moment, just changed the nature of the worry.

Rushing to the appropriate station, Mark activated the APC's anti-personnel cannon. With alarming swiftness, the unit lifted from the roof and primed the internal system. Moments later targeting software came online, giving Mark a host of options. Double-checking that the IFF was indeed activated, the tech selected the target and opened up. These thing were past human – or saving.
