Platoon Structure

Post by Duncan » Sun May 19, 2013 4:06 pm

I think we should discuss platoon structure. The standard procedure is to try and form four-man squads, each with a smartgunner. I think this creates a problem when we're in-mission, because we end up playing mix-and-match, which creates confusion. I think a better approach is to break the platoon up into smaller fireteams, consisting of two or three marines (one specialist and one rifleman). It allows more flexibility to react to a situation, without muddying up platoon structure.

Thoughts?

I disagree. This only occurred in the last 2 missions, and we can see why. Our given circumstances were a bit rough to deal with and it made staying in line difficult. We were confused on distances and locations and the whole of what was happening. These last 2 mission we worked with almost a 'mass assault' sort of set up, which we have never done before.

While I'm not opposed to the 2 'fireteam' idea, I think it needs to be maintained within a 4 man squad set up.
