Re: Turn 4: Turning Marines into Rats

Duncan waited calmly. After the assault, he thought Quinn would like his opinion. Honeysett was irrelevant at this point. Advance and kill your enemies. Duncan thought. Ignore the assault, I push forward, Duncan thought. I am ready to fight."

Re: Turn 3 Remember the Alamo

"It's Duncan, I'm good," the marine said, panting heavily. Duncan assessed the situation. His rifle would still be useful during a lull in waves, but to stop the xenos from storming the base, he needed something different. He rested the sniper rifle on its bipod near him and drew his SPAS-18.

Re: Turn 2 It Rode a Pale Horse! (Revelation 6:8)

Duncan refocuses his aim, pissed off at his performance. The marine aims his gun again, adjusting based on his last shots. He fires on the pursuers, hoping to put them down for good.

<Firing at the pursuing xenomorphs. Duncan will keep firing until both xenomorphs are dead.>

Re: Turn 2 It Rode a Pale Horse! (Revelation 6:8)

Duncan inhaled. As it came into focus, he saw the xenomorphs. He looked at the targets calmly. Quinn had given him clearance to shoot any hostiles. Once he saw the xenomorphs, he didn't hesitate. The thunderclap of his gun rang out as he fired at the right xenomorph. The round was a single shot HEAP...

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

"The human is wearing a Weyland-Yutani logo," Duncan said. The squinted his eyes a bit, feeling a sensation of being lightheaded. He quickly checked his rebreather and put it on. With the two sentry turrets wired in to him, Duncan adjusted the settings on his scope to give a composite image of the ...

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

Duncan trained his scope on the target. As he focused in, he relayed the message. "Southeast. Lead subject is human. Two unidentified in pursuit," he said, focusing in on the pursuers. He knew he had the best optics in the platoon and wanted to use it to get these things before it turned into the Al...

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

Duncan heard nothing. Frustrated, he tuned his comm to the NCOs.

"Quinn, Pitt, Hall, Morse, bogeys on the outer perimeter." Duncan aimed and readied himself to kill it alone if need be. One bullet will stop the threat, he thought.

<Tag anyone.>

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

As Duncan kept watch, movement caught his eye. Resting his sniper rifle on the wall, he looked through the scope. A black dot appeared on the horizon. As Duncan zoomed in, he flipped his comm to Quinn's station. "Lt. Quinn, I've got movement on the outer perimeter," he said into the mic, as he train...

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

Duncan looked out over the killzone. The edge of the fortification was dotted with small booths, made of thin aluminum sheets, slanted down towards the moat, nailed to two-by-fours hammered into the ground. Each structure was painted over with brown, marine grade paint. Initially, the idea had been ...

Re: Turn 1 Down to Gehenna

Duncan pushed forward. It was what he did, his nature. He had tried to help Oksana's husband but the complications from the surgery ruined everything. Over the last several months, Duncan had pushed ahead from the forward base, scouting and reporting on the surroundings. He knew Dirk and Quinn wante...

Platoon Structure

I think we should discuss platoon structure. The standard procedure is to try and form four-man squads, each with a smartgunner. I think this creates a problem when we're in-mission, because we end up playing mix-and-match, which creates confusion. I think a better approach is to break the platoon u...

Re: Roll call next mission!

Some quick things I noticed with some of the new player character sheets: Robert Larkins - I noticed you put yourself starting at a 2nd LT. I don't think this is kosher. In the movie, Ferro was a corporal and Spunkmeyer was a private. I realize that the LT rank makes sense based on current military ...
