Re: Turn 9: 2nd/3rd Squads

Grisham ambled over to the control terminal. He was uneducated but not stupid. Since childhood he had been able to multiply large sums in his head and intuitively understand complex machinery, talents which had sadly never been recognized as more than curiosities leaving him to be sent down the mine...

Re: Turn 9: 2nd/3rd Squads

“I s’pose it were me own fault” mumbled Grisham getting to his feet “I’d’ve done well to look where I was going.”

Nonetheless he leapt forward, following the lead of his commanding officer also seeking to restrain Carlson.

Grisham turned his attention to the forklift, considering the situation. He wanted to see if the man inside was armed. If gun visible: Grisham raised his rifle and fired at the man’s head. <roll gun combat> If no gun visible: Grisham dropped his smart-gun and rushed the forklift from the side, attem...

Re: Turn 6 - 2nd/3rd Squads

Grisham ran forward to his right, lining up a clearer shot on the man with the revolver who was hiding behind the container and firing as soon as he had an unobstructed view while doing his best to stay clear of the man with the pipe.

Re: Turn 4: Suit Up

“I’m as suited to hangin’ beneath as anyone I’ll warrant. ‘Tis no be’er than I deserve. If there’s aught to be said for me I’m not one to complain” said Grisham stepping forward a resigned look on his lumpy face. At first his intention was unclear but the others understood that he was volunteering a...

Re: Turn 2: The Nehalennia

As Grisham stepped into the submarine he couldn’t help but recall an unpleasant memory of being dragged down beneath the water, reptilian jaws clamped on his throat. He remembered the blind panic of the breath leaving his lungs, eclipsing even the pain of the pain of the teeth piercing his neck. “I ...

Re: Turn 1: The Tide of Fate

Oliver Grisham sat quietly in the cafeteria, in front of him a plate of baked beans and hash browns with plenty of ketchup. He ate very slowly and with a constant pace. Like a grazing cow. It was telling of Grisham’s life, that he considered his two stints in hospital to be “good times”. He’d been s...

Re: Mission 1 Turn 4: Amphibians

From the moments the lizard's jaws clamped on his ankle Grisham had been thrown into an animal frenzy. He let out an inhuman sound that was half bark half grunt and flailed wildly, grabbing Morse's ankle. The creature dragged him under the water and he was utterly disorientated. He'd never been much...

Re: Mission 1 Turn 2: Survival

Oliver Grisham's had an unusual collection of beliefs, none of which were ever articulated but rather evidenced in his reactions to the world around him. His first belief was that all events were inevitable and all human effort futile. This was a product of a life marked by wild calamities which he ...

Grisham raised his smartgun and took aim at the xenomorphs who were scuttling along the ceiling. His twisted face hardened like a walnut as he pressed down on the trigger with no intention of letting go until the xenomorphs moved no more.

"Bloody cold it is sir, no more than I deserve I s'pose. All this fightin' keeps the blood flowin' eh? I reckon we must've sent a fair few mercs to 'ell today. Not to mention them xenomorph devils. Still you've seen more missions than I've had hot dinners I'll warrant. You ought when one's goin' wel...

Re: CHAPTER 5 - Heads Or Tails

Oliver felt a quiet, grave sense of triumph as he sliced the man's throat open. This quickly gave way to a sickening dread as he heard the pounding on the door. He immediately regretted the carelessness with which he had flung aside his weapon. He had only a split second to dwell on this thought bef...

Re: CHAPTER 5 - Heads Or Tails

Oliver saw Honeysett disarmed by the mercenary and as Honeysett made his last ditch lunge at the enemy he knew that it would be too risky to use his smartgun on the grappling pair for fear of hitting Honeysett. "Slice him up good I will" he muttered drawing his combat knife and diving wildly towards...
