OOC: Please accept my apologies for nor replying to the current turn sooner but I had a few busy days and didn't have time to check the board and write.

IC:
Angie joined the marines of both platoons for breakfast the morning of the incursion mission but unlike some of her companions she was quiet and focused. For one, the young private didn't know these people and she decided to use the 30 minutes they had before heading off to observe and learn a little about them. There hadn't been time to make any friends or connections for that matter, not yet anyway but she had a feeling the mission would change that pretty quickly...for some anyway. Roberts was clearly more outgoing than Angie but she wasn't really a people's person.

Not most of the time anyway. Angie had her moments.

She finished her meal like she started...slowly and quietly. For those who didn't know her it could look like she wasn't paying attention to the 'world' around her or she didn't want to mingle which was far from the truth. She just did things on her own time. The medic had shifted her gaze discreetly around the table throughout the meal and studied the marines faces and actions as they chatted. The different personalities fascinated her more than she would like to admit. After breakfast, Angie checked on her gear to make sure she was brining everything she needed and stepped outside the mess tent to join the rest of her platoon.
"Ready Bojan" He said, he pulled out his own cross and gave it a kiss before crossing himself, and he had an idea. "Hey Bojan you think it'd be alright if we all got together and said a prayer together?" He asked.
Angie looked from Williams to the Bojan and bit her lower lip lightly. Praying wasn't really her thing, not these days anyway. She stepped back a little then and found herself standing near one of the members of the Delta Dogs. Angie offered the man a small smile and held out a hand to him. "Angie Hawkins...medic."

Maybe it was time to mingle or try anyway.

"There's no reason not to, but anyone that doesn't want to doesn't have to", he replied. Bojan was still unsure about religion. There was no point in discounting something without further information, it was just Bojan had never felt the need to find more information.

"There's no reason not to, but anyone that doesn't want to doesn't have to", he replied.

Huey nodded, out of the corner of his eye he spotted 8th Platoons new medic retreat at the sound of the word prayer, he didn't know why, but he wasn't going to ask. Standing on top of a crate Huey begin his little mass.

"Hey y'all!!" He yelled out to the group of roughly 20 Marines present. "Gather round everybody...Reverend Roberts would you care to join me" He asked him, he didn't want to put him on the spot. "Don't be shy now, we ain't having to Inquistion or anything like that. Gentlemen and Lady" He said glancing at Angie, "There are some beasts out there, animals so evil they appear to be sent the by the Devil hisself" He paused, "In light of the trials we are about to face I'd like those of us willing to join me in song" Hymning he began singing songs he remembered from his mother's Baptist church, clapping his hands to get everyone together.

Leans over to Bojan and whispering to him. "Permission to start the inquisition and shoot the messenger?" Shaking his head at the craziness of breaking out into song. Your time comes your time comes and no song or prayer going to protect you. Sooner you accept this the longer you live. Banking on some higher power to being paying attention when you get in the shit. That is just dumb....

Watching the marines buzz around Con sat and wondered how many of them would live. The sound of church hyms surrounded his as one of the 8th platoon marines held what seemed to be a small sermon. From his position sitting on the ground Con felt small, insignificant, almost like it didn't matter what he did, in the long run the people who God wanted to win would win no matter what they did.

Feeling inspired Con grabbed his rifle and sat it on his lap. Taking out his knife he began scratching in a short message on the side

Υπάρχει μόνο τώρα

"there is only now"
Looking at what he had written Con felt satisfied and somehow like that no matter how this mission ended he had already lived a full life.

Silently Con stood, sligning his rifle over his back and tucking his knife back into his boot.

"Hey, Hell Hounds" Con called "If your not doing anything important get your arses over here, its time to have a little chat"

It always amazed Altair how could people so blindly believe in God. Not that he was against religion of any kind, his father was a Muslim, while his mother was a devout Christian, he and his sister was brought up to follow any kind of religion and the boy was glad for that. Altair didn’t know exactly when it happened but one day he just stopped believing in any kind of God. The boy thought that there was too much suffering in the world for the God to exist; if he did then he was a cruel God indeed.

Despite his atheistic views the boy understood that religion always was and will be a part of humanity no matter what happened to the world. At the end people believing in God had much better lives at least they had a target in this miserable life - to go to heaven or equivalent place if you were following some other non Christian religion.

While the ceremony took place the boy kept quite just as he retreated a few meters from the gathering to get out of the way of those who were interested. Taking a deep breath of fresh morning air Altair instead observed the sunrise of the big red star – the red giant this system revolved around. The scene was certainly different for those born on Earth.

Simovic cringed when Williams and the others broke out into hymn, yeah he was Christian Orthodox but preferred to worship God in private and not to try and force it upon anyone else.

Maybe living in the streets had made him like that, revealing your faith to others was seen as a weakness and would have resulted in unnecessary problems. He did however want to retreat to the cubicles to sit and make silent prayer to God before the battle. He'd sent a vid call to his parents and asked them to light a candle for each of the men in his platoon on the last mission (though two hadn't returned), and he'd done the same this time, hopefully he would be listening this time...

As Simovic neared the cubicles he noticed one was locked and could hear panting coming from it. Thinking it a bit odd he used one two doors down from it.

Faintly bemused by the hymns and readings, Jacob fully kitted out, lay down by where Con was sitting and stared at the sky smoking. shortly he got up and whispered in Con's ear... then sat back and took another drag of cigarette...

Tk watched as the they prayed. He stubbed out his cigarette, seems like they were just hoping for something or someone to save them. The only thing Khan could rely on was his wits and training. He had always believed that God was just an imaginary friend for Grown-ups.

"Altair.." He spoke as soon as he saw him backing out of the group. " ...you buy any of that bullshit? " he grinned.." I don't believe in it either..and anyone trying to cram that crap down my throat should just accept that I don't believe an be happy that if there is a God I'll burn in Hell...." He thought back to the inferno in the tunnel as the creatures charged him and the squad.." It shouldn't be too bad..being that I've already been there and back again.."

He heard the tinkering
The hissing
He felt the shivers of pure terror roll down his spine
He saw the shadows, he saw them rip apart his friends over and over again
He knew they were watching without eyes
They knew he was there...
They were coming, he stood up screaming shoot at the toilet door, he kept on and counted the bullets until he had one left.

He saw the black shell of the creature, he knew he saw it and then he shot himself in the head, the little gray brain matter he had splattered over the wall.

Erik Jonsson walked slowly but purposefully toward the tents, solemn faced, and with a slight, unrelated grimace at the lack of organization on the part of the transportation system. He was hoping this was chance, not a show of the military’s capability. As sullen as he appeared, he had a large optimistic streak, and was going to reserve his judgement until he had gotten used to the situations. “At least it can’t be more shoddy than where I came from. Civilians with bludgeons, hmph.â€

he stood up screaming shoot at the toilet door, he kept on and counted the bullets until he had one left.
Eric jumped horribly at the sound of the gunfire, coming two inches off the ground, and squeezed the trigger of the smartgun. Thank God the safety was on. He turned and started charging toward the sound of the shots, flicking off the safety as he went, leading the way because he was on his feet already.
he shot himself in the head, the little gray brain matter he had splattered over the wall.
Eric heard another shot, just a single round. He sped up, releasing the ammo hanging on him that was slowing him down. He sprinted faster then he could remember ever running, except for maybe boot camp. He was praying in his head that it was a misfire or something other then an attack from the xenomorphs.

Simovic heard the gun shots from the cubicle two doors down from his, instinctively he grabbed his VP70 from it's holster and made his way to the room. As soon as he approached he noticed a pool of blood coming from underneath the door.

He decided whoever was in there needed medical attention ASAP. He spoke over his comms unit to the others "Simovic here, we have a situation in one of the bathrooms, gun shots have been fired and possibly a man down, i'm going to need a medic ASAP".

Simovic tried the door realised it was locked and decided to try a more direct method to open it.

(O.O.C Pale Rider I'm going to kick the door down)

O.O.C again, should this thread not be locked down once we conclude Greens death?
