Tyler couldn't believe it. They had come all this way, they were now so close, and they were turning back. He couldn't stand it. He didn't want to live the rest of his life knowing that he could have saved those marines, that he could have made a difference. He didn't want to be haunted by the fact that he left them to a horrible death that no person deserved.

All this down the drain cause of these fucking new guys, he angrily thought as he looked at Morrison's team.

Tyler then spoke to dirk. "How are we gonna withdraw? I got a bit of fuel left in the incinerator, I could take up the rear position and lay down some napalm if the xenos come after us".

Morse assessed the situation a bit, giant bugs comming at em from all directions, they were blind, and now their goin through introductions

Texas, but i dont think nows the best time for us to play around the horn with introductions, bein as the big bugs are on their way to greet us

Morse continued to back up, with weapon up, but hadnt fired yet

Erika smiled to this big guy with a strong Russian accent.

"nice to meet you fellow samrtgunner, my name is Erika"

She liked this guy... she had the feeling that they would become good friend.

"Cut the chatter Marines." came the rough voice of Quinn. He had not flipped down his IR eyepiece, as he knew that the bastards would not show up on it. As ordered, he kept his eye on his tracker and the ceiling. He still had the buckshot rounds loaded into the launcher.

He played his headlamp over the ceiling, keeping an eye out. "Sergeant, they know we're here. Recommend we forget the stealthy approach."

Petrova looked at Quinn for a moment. What a downer thought Petrova.

"Jeez louise" said Petrova.

Eric was staying in the middle of the group, pushing the new guys along as best he could. "Fella's we can talk later, just move. We don't want to lose anyone else."


He leaned in to the new guy, Petrova. "Don't wory bout Quinn, we've been through Hell, just move."

"Pitt, you want me to cover our six? Wherever you want me, I'm there." Ward said to his newfound squad leader.



Ward saw the look of disgust on some of Pitt's Marines. He knew they were probably blaming the new guys for leaving their men behind. It really was not Ward's fault. When he found out what they wanted to do, he was about to pitch in and help too. Orders were orders, but sometimes 'forgetting' about orders was a good thing. Obviously, not in this situation. Confusion was awry and now the xenomorphs knew where they were. Thanks to them, they had botched the Eights' mission. He did feel partly responsible for that.

Ward heard Quinn yell at the other Marines' to cut the chatter. He had to agree to that. The more they talked about unnecessary things, the more they gave the location of the platoon away. Ward hoped that his first mission would not suddenly become his last. Ward moved up next to Fox and aimed his Pulse Rifle in the same direction.

"Thought you could use some help!" Ward said, smiling at the man.

If he had some flares, he would throw them. But he didn't. Something he would have to acquire for his next mission obviously.

'He'll probably shove me off. After all, I am the Fucking New Guy.' Ward thought to himself, but would wait until he was actually verbally told to move.

Dirk shot Ward a quick look. He was going to yell at the new guy but something stoped him. It wasnt that long ago he thought.

"Ward, Walk point with me. Call out any targets before fireing. Stay frosty. We are getting out of here alive." He said slapping Ward on the back

"Roger." Ward said, moving up to the point.



Ward moved with Dirk, scanning the area with his rifle and flashing his shoulder lamp where he could. He was staying as alert as possible, but his nervousness was becoming a detriment. He shook his head, attempting to stay focused. Last thing he needed was to kill somebody on accident. Pitt and his squad were counting on him as they were eachother. He could not botch this. He was just a greenhorn with a weapon.

'Man, I cannot wait to get out of this shit. This is definitely, the suck.' Ward thought.

Ward looked to the lance corporal. He seemed to have seen a lot of things he regretted seeing and somehow Ward could tell he wanted to go back and save those MIA Marines. Who wouldn't. The line, 'Never leave a Marine behind' played through his head.

Morse heard Ward ask for permission again, just like he always did.
"Jesus Ward, ya gonnna ask for permision to whipe your ass to"

Just like in boot, Ward was a good marine, and there wasnt a man out there to deny that, he was just a bit to by the book for Morse's tastes.


But he also was concerned about the current situation.

He kept his weapon forward, but unlike Crazy ass dirk and ward, he wasnt about to go in first

Morse kept his weapon pointed towards the cieling and forward, and repeated this many times, he wasnt about to get ghosted by these things.

"Yo Morse, permission to make a comment about your 'whipe your ass' comment?" Ward asked, chuckling.



Ward kept searching for a hostile. He thought he saw something. Some sort of movement. His shoulder lamp then turned off.

"Damn it!" Ward exclaimed, "I think I saw somethin' before my light went off."



Ward aimed his weapon in that direction. His IR picked up nothing, but from what Morrison had said, IR did shit against these creatures.

(roll detection, observation, and sense danger)

Ward, i ever tell ya a part of me hates you... but then again, so does the other part Morse replied back to ward

Then Wards light went out. and Morse could see that.

Ward i'd suggest ya back up, whatever the fuck you saw it aint happy to see ya
