M1T6

2179 AD 25th August
Location: CSC Sector, Crysalis, Camp Castaway

21.28 hours local time

Dirk Pitt fired his shot after aiming carefully through his scoped rifle. The round missed it's targets by a wide margin. Not deterred by this he fired another round after aiming, which where even wider from the target. The last round he fired was also well wide of target.

The two custom built dozers halted at a ridge some 500 meters away, waiting for the accompanying infantry to catch up. The machinegun that had fired at them suddenly stopped and withdrew into cover.

The upper body of a man could briefly be seen through the IR scopes pointing and giving directions. Suddenly the two dozes started again towards the base, the infantry piling in behind them in two rows using the dozers as cover.

The distance had now decreased to normal combat ranges and things started to heat up considerably as the two dozers proofed to be armed with autocannons. The muffled rythmic thumping, followed by the fiercly metallic bangs as the high explosive rounds tore the sentry guns on the perimeter into shreds send shivers of fear down the spines of the marines.

Things where getting ugly.

Fast.

Simovic and Kurosaki reached the APCs with enemy rounds whipping past their heads. Simovic heaved the heavy armored sliding door open, while rounds impacted the APCs armored hull with loud metallic clanks. The inside of the APC was murky and the only light were from the TV panels which relayed the action from the Marines shoulder cameras. As his eyes adjust Simovic found himself staring down the barrel of a VP70 pistol. It was Lt Anderson who held the weapon. She had lost her cap and her forehead had beads of sweat on it and she gave a shaken expression. Her hand trembled slightly, but she didn't lower the pistol.

OOC: I saved Pitts sniper fire to this turn. I hope it was ok. You rolled insanely bad Pitt. In the upper 80s and 90s range when all You needed where roughly one third of that. (I am a little cryptic here on purpose).

Word of advice: Use single rounds at longer ranges and say that You aim carefully - That increases You hit accuracy much. If to rely on spraying and praying, don't count on hitting anything except at very close ranges. And You need to start hitting things because the rebels have been VERY close to hit You even as You are in cover. Like said before if You get hit in Aliens Adventure Game it is pretty much over. Do not get hit.

Firing away like John Rambo  You will also consume ammunitions at a prodigous rate. I will not keep track on each players number of rounds, but if someone fires profusively I might decide that he only has one clip left all the sudden and start counting.

Ok enough of the OOC parts!

Game on!  :)

Kurosaki stared at the woman first. Wasn't she the commanding officer of the base? He decided not to go for his weapon, out of self preservation.

"Erm... Ma'am?" He said to her. His PLATOONCOM was still on, so his squad members could hear him.

"You should put down the weapon. Offing us will not improve the problem."

Simovic had managed to reach the APC and bundle inside while under intense fire, just as he was thankful of that small mercy he was confronted by Lt Anderson pointing her pistol at him. He poke to her in a calm voice "Lt Anderson, sorry to startle you. We need to concerntrate the firepower of the APC's on the attacking bulldozers, otherwise we're be in serious trouble. Can you relay that order to the other APC crews, while we ready this one?".

Lt Anderson hesitated for a second more before lowering her gun. "You startled me..." she said with a voice full of fear. "The rebels...they" she pointed lamely at the screen. Her eyes almost pleading as she looked at Simovic, her gun limply in her hand.

"They kill all Officers...the rebels...they kill all officers. All..."

Back behind the cover of the debris Sean overheard the combat scene and noticed that the enemy machingun has ceased fire. A broad grin arised on his face. While the firefight went on and swelled to a fierce storm of screaching gunfire and pounding woofs. Sean waited for a good minute till enemy fire digressed from his position before raising his M56 over the rubble. Up side down the targeting computer spotted potencial targets and marked them as hostile, while the gun automatically steered itself and zeroed in on the target of choice. Sean toggled through the proffered targets till he had one of the bulldozers and accompanying infantry on target. While firing a long burst from his smartgun, Sean wondered if the bulldozer's armor would prove sufficient against the powerful rounds. The bright muzzle flash flickered like a raving strobe light, ripping apart the dull shadows of the night around the marine.  Sean followed the trajectory of his projectiles trace through his vision for a second before sliding deep into cover again. Knowing what threat the heavy weapons on the bulldozers were to his position now Collins rolled over and crawled closer to the main building, where the density of the debris would provide even greater shelter. It was a good opportunity to contact his squadleader and section sergeant now.
"Private Collins here, enemy armor closing in. They're going to run the fences over soon! We'll be caught up in close quarter combat, sir! Awaiting orders!" he reported in via close range comm.

An explosion knocked out Erika at the beginning of the battle. Her body was hidden by several debris. Slowly she started to wake up, she felt dizzy and she heard a familiar voice calling her.

Suddendly she realized what had happened and slowly she tried to move to see if anything was broken. She felt OK

She started looking around trying to figure out the situation and make up her mind.

"The ennemy is getting closer" she thought, her mind was not yet fully focused.

Kurosaki said nothing, waiting for Dugan to make the first move. He was aware that every moment that they stood there, the greater chance of being discovered, even in the APC.

Simovic realised the young officer was suffering severe stress disorder and tried to comfort her "Don't worry we have dropships on the way your soon be back safe drinking a nice warm cup of coffee, just sit down here and I'll let you know when they land" Simovic motioned towards one of the APC's seats.

Simovic then turned to Kurosaki and winked at him. "Ok I'm going to try and target the APC's main weapons on one of the bulldozers. You try and contact the other APC crews and ask them to fire on the bulldozers as well, maybe our short range comms still work? Also try and get any secondary weapon systems firing on the incoming troops"

Simovic then raced towards the main turrets controls and attempted to line them up on the nearest bulldozer. While he was aiming a voice came through on his comms.

S. Collins wrote: "Private Collins here, enemy armor closing in. They're going to run the fences over soon! We'll be caught up in close quarter combat, sir! Awaiting orders!" he reported in via close range comm.

"Collins this is Simovic, concentrate your fire on the left bulldozer. If any soldiers break cover, go for them too, over"

Simovic then released a shot at the right bulldozer.

[Nick what weapon systems has the APC we're in got?]

private patch knew many things in this world, some of them useful some not, one thing he new for certain and his drill sergeants had told him often enough " you boy! you can not shoot straight, yes we now you passed but you are just NOT i say NOT to try to aim at shit and hit it with a single shot!!! this mode B.U.R.S.T that is what u use...and never over 200m you got me boy!!!" the recalled incident made patch smile, they had been correct, but that hadn't stopped him finding other tactics to inflict casualties.

patch checked the range of the again mobile dozers...350m and closing..approximately 15km /hour they would be to the hill in 1min 20second, roughly. a broad smile creased patches lips... he opened his favorite box, carefully picked out 4 blue M51A grenades and loaded them.

" Dozers 350m closing slow...ETA 1min..infantry 350-400m...frags out" was patches comment over the comms. patch carefully aimed and from akneeling position , staying in as much cover as possible fired the four rounds over the top of the dozers to deliberately land in among the following troops.

"have a nice day assholes" patch said aloud whilst getting back into full cover.

patch suddenly had a thought and tapped his comms "sarge, is it worth switching to full metal jackets..if this is improvised armor will it penetrate?"

Jones spoke clearly over the comms. He was confident his marines could see the battle through "Fire at will everyone. Make sure you aim and make your shots count.", he said.

"Snipers, see if you can take out those tractors. The drivers shouldn't be too well protected."

Windrider didn't wait a second after hearing he can get the scoped rifle.  Quickly letting himself back from the mound he started to crouch sprint to get the scoped rifle and move back to position.  Keeping close to the cover and objects between him and the enemy troops was key to his movement.

Having retrieved a smartgun, Octavius ran back towards the central building, hoping to make it to one of the prepared defensive positions without getting shot.  It was the first time he had ever been shot at in anger, of course in training they had shot weapons above him but never with the intention to kill him.

At the moment he didn't feel any fear, in fact all he felt was a dreadful anger.  Clutching his smartgun closer he ran as fast as he could to get into cover again.

Erika slowly and carefully looked around to get an idea of the situation.

She did not know where her group was.

She saw the ennemy advancing, she aimed and started shooting.
