"LT Anderson, this is O'Brien, do you know who was being detained in these cells? Over."

"We are uncertain...seems like this floor was mentioned as a garage in our files, there is not info on any cells what so ever. Over."

"Roger that" O'brien answered.

"Sergeant Dugan to Anderson, over" It was uncommon for the LT to use the first name of the Sergeant, Simovic reflected quickly before answering.

"With the servers gone I want You out of there...but I want You to check that contact first. If it is hostile I want You to withdraw without engaging, no reason to stirr the hornest nest again. The only way out is the elevator and I suspect that if the shit his the fan again they'll be coming that way from upstairs. Over"

"Affirmative, over" Sergeant Simovic said, already starting to make up a plan in his head.

"We have landed on the pad just now and I am moving towards the dome to engage the elevator, to send it down to You. It should be down in just a few minutes, get ready to leave. Over and out. " over her voice the sound of a pair of  idling dropship engines could be heard.

The squads advanced on the contact, sweeping the corridors with their lights. The eerie soft pinging sound of the locked in motion tracker added to the suspense in the densly quiet hallways. Patch halted, something white reflected on the metal floor below his feet. He bent down, picked it up and recoiled - dropping the small white plastic looking object - It clattered across the floor with an almost wooden sound to it. "A jaw bone...human" he said, to no one special.

The squads neared the entrance to the autopsy room from each direction - Moving slowly forward, weapons shouldered they walked the "duck-walk" a special shooting stance You use when moving to move as stable as possible. In short You try to walk on Your heels with softly bent knees, rolling the whole step over the footsole keeping the upper body level. The Marines quickly closed the gap between the squads and filed up on each side of the entrance [pos: L2 / M2]

Dugan pointed on O'brien and Lippa to go in first. The two Marines quickly rounded their corner, one crouched down and the other one aiming over him - Their shoulder lights quickly swept the nickel clad room.

The room concisted of three steel benches with a drain connected to them. In the roof a huge parabolic looking light hung, its white color in stark contrast to all naked metal. The air was crisp, cold but with a slight tinge of rot that made it feel unfresh despite.

To the east a thick door stood half open. Above it a sign: "MORGUE"

The Marines quickly filed into the Autopsy room, Patch and Dugan standing on each side of the Morgue door. With a slight nod they heaved it open and quickly swept into the room, using "slicing the pie" technique on their respective angle.

"Check those corners!" Dugan muttered.

The Morgue was empty. The eastern wall were covered with small boxes, probably containing corpses. In the roof a large fan rotated slowly, each turn sending a pinging signal to the motion tracker.

"Dugan!" suddenly a voice exploded in all of the Marines headsets. "NO!" was quickly followed thereafter - It was Lt Andersons voice. "Get of her You piece of shit..." That must be McRoger of the dropship crew. "Holy shit, there are dozens all over! Back to the ship, go, go, go!" Dropship pilot Carlson shouted.

O'Brien acknowleged the LTs' answer to his query. He shook his head as he pondered her answer. A garage??  What the fuck.  Why didn't she pick up on a garage three sub levels below ground, its not exactly a normal place to have one.  So much for good intel...

Moving with 3rd Sqd, Obi provided cover as CPL Ishizawa and Johnson cleared the rest of the cells (posn: M13-V13).  All where in a similar state of disorder as the first one.  With the clearing sweep finished, 3rd Squad moved up to rejoin the rest of the platoon and converge on the single contact.

3rd Sqd rounded the corner (posn: V2) and moved towards the entrance of the Autopsy Room.  The rest of the platoon was moving moving on the entrance from the other direction and closing straight towards 3rd Sqd.

The platoon moved silently, all orders given by hand signal.  Taking a knee (posn: N2) Obi kept his rifle covering the doorway into the Autopsy Room, finger on the trigger in case one of those things decided to stick its ugly head out.

Keeping the door covered, Obi saw SGT Simovic, touch PVT Lippa on the shoulder and point towards the door.  He then pointed to Obi and indicated he was to move in as well.  Obi nodded in understanding and slowly moved up to the edge of the door frame.  As the two marines took position either side of the door way (posn: L2/M2), Obi indicated to Lippa that he would go low.

Catching Lippas' eye, senses razor sharp and heart hammering away madly in his chest, Obi held up three fingers and did a silent count down. On three, both marines swung into action, Obi going low and Lippa going high, they moved into the room silently and swiftly.   Three large stainless steel examination benches was all that welcomed them.  A large oddly shaped white ceiling light, cast its sickly glow, illuminating all the stainless steel and giving the room a very sterile appearance.  Moving further into the room, Obi crinkled his nose at the slight smell of rotting flesh, mixed with the scent of heavy duty cleaning antiseptics.  Smells like death all cleaned up, he thought as the rest of the platoon piled into the Autopsy room.

finally patch thought aloud "does this mean the lift aint coming?"

Obi shook his head in disbelief,  " I am so glad you are here to tell us these things Professor Patch. Instead of stating the obvious, why don't you back me up in securing the elevator? "   Obi said with a sarcastic grin.

Three levels down underground and the only way back up is to pass the things they had tried to escape from, thought Erik. This is bad. He'd back his Cpl's play but Oh joy. They were fast going from the frying pan to jumping into the fire.

Dirk's heart pounded in his chest as he lead his squads room by room sweep towards the Morgue. They had found nothing but papers and boxes in the room. What ever happened here, they cleaned up after themselves.

Covering the entry team outside the Morgue he waited for the screams of contact followed by the sounds of gunfire. The seconds after the team entered the room felt like hours. Then the nervous laughter of the Marines finding the fan came over the net.

Smiling, she shook his head. "A fan." he thought as he pulled a cigaret out of his pack and lit it. Stuffing the pack and lighter back in his pocket he turned to his squad.

"Maybe we should turn off the fan, the company suits might want to take their electric bill out of or pay if we don't" He joked as he relaxed, just a bit.

The scream filled the net as Dirk's eyes flew open wide. Dirk looked around to make sure that the attack wasn't happening down here aswell.

"These bastards just don't quit." He said to himself.

"Ok 4th, lets move out and get to the elevator. There had to be a way to get it down here." He said as he started to move to the elevator at a slow run.

"Aye Cpl", replied Erik "Maybe there's one of those crawl spaces with a ladder well off to the side of the elevator if we can't get the lift to come down maybe we can climb up to it."

Erik followed his Cpl on his path back to the elevator site.

"Morse, you still want to pull drag on this one?"

As Erik followed, he panned his motion tracker around. He still carried his pistol in his hand.

Morse was a bit surprised by what was happening topside, but at the same time he had expected something to go wrong like that. He had a concerned look on his face, but he didn't have anything else about him that felt odd yet. He had good reflexes, in the sense that he flinched allot and really easily.

Morse moved passed the group to remain at the rear of his squad. "Whats the matter Stormhurst, afraid them critters gonna come down here, tear ya apart, and you'll actually see em? I like watchin the rear, means i don't have to see the bad shit before it kills me." Morse said, taking up position. His eyes paced against the walls again as he continued his reverse behind the squad.

Morse thought about what was goin on topside again. "Corpral sir, what do ya figure we're gonna do if we get up there and we're a bit... over numbered?" Morse said, meaning if they were outnumbered.

< Tag Dirk

He sometimes had difficulty comunicating his thoughts. He had a good mind, and was a very logical person, he just spoke rather odd.

"prof patch. i like it"laughed patch, it felt good to ease the tension.

"ok obi, lets make like Sheppard's and try and get the flock out of here" nodding at Obi they headed off to the elevator shaft, patched checked his motion tracker virtually constantly trusting that obi would give him the heads up if something occurred.

"I hear you mate, I mean Professor, lets roll."  Obi said as he slapped Patch on the shoulder as the two marines moved out.

They where almost side by side as they proceeded along the passageway towards the elevator, (posn: M2-V2), seemingly moving as one entity, Obi with his rifle up into his shoulder, finger on the trigger, eyes scanning over the optic sight, the rifle moving to where he looked. With Patch keeping pace, acting as their advance warning by maintaining constant visual on the motion tracker display.

Kurosaki heard the transmissions and frowned. This bad enough as it was, however, if they all survived it would be worse. Bio-containment procedures had to be followed. Kurosaki racked the charging lever of his sub-machine gun and pointed down the hallway, back towards the elevator.
"Second Squad, we are going to be the first ones on the lift!" Kurosaki said into his commo unit. He took point this time, with his squad following him.

Approaching the lift cautiously (posn: V5), keeping one ear on the motion tracker, Obi still paid heed to the chatter over the circuit with the other marines.  Whispering quietly, "Ok Professor Patch, we got 2nd Sqd coming up behind us."

Keying his headset, "Kurosaki this is O'Brien, Patch and i are almost at the lift, so far we got nil contacts on the tracker, over."
