Two squads not enough!!

The interest for the new game has been overwhelming and I now have more applications than I have spots. (8 originally). But since there are so many players interested I will start the game with three or possibly even four squads.

I must put the Doomdice hard at work as soon as mission is on the way to make a few holes in the ranks I guess...

Huzzah!

Can I be in the cool squad that all the other marines want to be in but can't because they're not cool enough and they end up not going to the prom because the cool squad is taking all the hot chicks but they end up going anyway and some hilarious hijinks result and at the end of the mission they learn a valuable life lesson?

I honestly don't know where I was going with that.

I did a test character called John Smith but I have now redone Dugan Simovic, so Smith can be binned.

Well friend, I'll give you a few tips.

1.) Good grammar. This is key here, since it makes the posts you type a lot easier to read. For example, taking your post that I quoted, it would be more like "I would like to be a grunt, but I haven't played this game yet. Is this okay?". Act like you're talking to someone else, but instead of physically speaking, you're typing it out.

2.) Detail your posts. The more detail, the more interesting it is to read.

Another useful tip is that, even though you may not know what to do or can't be bothered posting a full blown reply, post something so we know you're still there, even if it's just saying you're standing around waiting.

*MWNF leans against a nearby steel beam and continues to wait as AstroBoy told him too. With only three slots left in the campaign roster he begins to wonder if he and his friend will be chosen to play in this mission.

There we go. That is the very first thing I have ever said in third person. Would I essentially be typing/talking like that during the campaign? I've never played any of these role-playing games before.

Thanks,
MWNF

That's good but your tense is wrong. You need to be in past tense.

More like this

*MWNF leant (or leaned depending on your dialect) against a nearby steel beam and continued to wait as AstroBoy had told him to. With only three slots left in the campaign roster he began to wonder if he and his friend would be chosen to play in the next mission.

The tense isn't as set. Go read some of the older posts to see the style. Though, some old posts are wrong. If in doubt, just follow the style of one of the squadleaders.
