Easy Eights: Weapons and Equipment Breakdown

Post by maxvale76 » Sat Sep 04, 2010 4:09 pm

Okay; as of Mission 2 in 'Invictus'; do not consider your charater sheet's listed equipment to be accurate; instead, here's the weapons assignments:

SSGT Simovic: M 240 Flame Unit, Motion Tracker, Welder
CPL O'brien: M41 Pulse Rifle, PRC 252 Field Radio, Bypass Tool

SGT Honeysett: M 240 Flame Unit, Motion Tracker
CPL Morse: M41E2 Pulse Rifle
PVT Shepard: M42 Scoped Rifle
CPL Valentine: M41 Pulse Rifle, Welder

SGT Pitt: M41 Pulse Rifle, Motion Tracker
PFC Dunn: M56 Smartgun
CPL Quinn: M 240 Flame Unit; K52 Medical Kit, Welder
PVT Lonebear: M41 Pulse Rifle

Available Secondary Weapons: 1 M240 Flame Unit, 4 M41 Pulse Rifles, 1 M42 Scoped Rifle, 3 M4A3 Pistols; 10 VP70 Pistols; 1 M39 SMG, 2 SPAS 18 Shotguns

Notes: All players may choose 1 and only 1 Secondary Weapon: Morse and Dunn can only choose Pistols as a secondary weapon due to the weight and size of thier primary weapon.

All players have an M24 Tactical Knife; 8 M40 grenades, 1 Smoke Grenade and 6 Flares. All players have Light Armor except for Dunn; who has the slightly different M56 armor for Smartgun Operators.

Any other equipment desired; please ask me and I'll let you know if it's do-able or not.

I'll take your pulse rifle and welder, and raise you that VP70 sidearm.

I'll be needing an M4A3 Pistol, and a Personal First Aid Kit. I've got a good amount in medical training, but I aint draggin' a K52 Medical Kit out there again with my M41A-E2.

I'll take a VP-70 as a sidearm.

Any chance of a Colt Python? No way will a VP-70 get through the Bug's exoskeleton, and he really doesn't trust the M4A3 (or any semi-auto pistol for that matter)

I'll take a Pulse Rifle as secondary, if I can carry it. If not an M39 SMG.

Dunn: Sorry; please pick from the VP70 or M4A3.

Dugan: Actually, I think the weight would be a bit much with both a Flame Unit and a M41; but the SMG is do-able.

Morse: A first-aid kit is fine.

All: Secondary weapons adjusted for those chosen so-far.

Yes please....or if folks want to do thier own sheet, can they do that? (I thought they could; if I'm wrong on that, my apologies!)

Yeah they can but they need to edit and upload their character sheets with the same name, that way it'll overwrite the existing one.

Ugh, can I just take an extra ammo drum for my Smartgun instead, to represent Dunn making sure he has as much ammo as he possibly can, to the exclusion of all else?

Actually wasn't it the VP70 that Vasquez was emptying into the bug's head in the ventilation shaft in Aliens? Looked like it penetrated there, though it was up close and personal.

Dunn: Sure, you can carry an extra drum for your Smartgun instead.

Casey: Actually, Gorman is the only one shown to be firing a VP 70, though Frost is carrying one in the first attack by the aliens.

Vazquez, who is often incorrectly said to be carrying a 1911 .45, actually is carrying a S&W 39 or 59 (practically the same weapon) 9mm.

All: Game-wise; the pistols all have a CHANCE to do damage to an Alien, though not a particularly good one!

Yea - you'll note that Vasquez's weapon only penetrated the bug at POINT BLANK range (hence the blood problems), whilst Gorman fired his VP70 from a range of about two meters, and these shots merely glanced off the bug's exoskeleton.

Probably just moviefaildrama, though, but I'm glad to hear I can go with extra ammo on a gun I can rely on instead ^_^

I was thinking the same thing. Though the pistol looked more like a .45 if I recall correctly. Either way, pistol make bug go die.
