After his serious dash towards the outer wall, carrying some of the heaviest equipment the platoon had to offer, Morse was nearly in position. He could the noise of the rifles already on the wall, and the thunderous roar of the creatures that were just on the other side of it. It was all no doubt a prelude to some very serious trouble,

Giosso’s note that it seemed like most of the animals in the jungle were moving on them did not comfort Morse in the slightest. He had only managed to bring a single spare drum, different then his usual four. One rocket and six hundred rounds from the M56 Smartgun would be a rather serious amount of help regardless.

Dirk called into the their com to move to a specific portion of their zone, and Morse did not hesitate to listen. They needed to the right end covered as it was and Morse was in a very good place to be suppressing targets. So he quickly climbed the wall and moved his eyepiece over his right eye to begin selecting targets.

”EAT IT FUCKERS!” Morse echoed the phrase written on the side of his M2 Flak Vest, firing as he did.

Within a moment Eyeball was asking him about the use of separate weapons. Morse was having trouble concentrating on both shooting the easily locked targets and listening to him. But he understood that he was referring to a flame unit.

”If you wanna roast em, git to th’armory n’ grab a roaster!” Morse yelled to him, thinking that what he wanted. ”Yer ass better be rated fer it. Cus you burn this fuckin’ wall up, I’m tossin’ you over it.” Morse concluded. He would obviously never kill a fellow marine, but the threat made his point clear.

”Don’t let none of em come in to lick this wall!” Morse yelled out to the new recruits. ”Chuck a nade if ya got em!” Morse suggested firing off grenades to help even their chances out.

Colson had already been at the wall a little way around the perimeter when the call came in. So he was one of the first in position to see what was coming at them. "Not good." He thought to himself. Getting round to the position the same time Morse did, that marine sure could run.

The order came in; Colson responded. His M41A opened spat death in counterpoint to Morse's Smartgun.

Aim low? Mark thought for a moment, “Alright, time to void the warranty.” Mark said to computer as he slid back over to the turret control systems. Shifting over to the calibration systems, he selected the entire lot on that side of the compound and accessed the manual value override. Auto-turrets weren’t exactly designed for kneecapping, they were programed to aim for center of mass, but he thought he had a way to trick them into doing it.

Cycling through the vertical detection adjustment levels, he started throwing in extreme low numbers, even negative for a couple of them, bypassing the occasional “service needed” signal that popped up as a response. With those values in place, the turrets should, if he guessed his numbers right, think that everything out there was half the height it actually was. His final adjustment was to fix all the turrets in a left to right target priority tiebreaker pattern. With any luck, it'd scare them into the hole the other marines should be making by taking out the Xenomorphs on the right.

Grenades! Yeah that will work!
Eyeball aimed and fired three grenades as fast as he could set to go off just on the outside edge of the on coming stampede, hope fully the loud noise and concussive blast would help to puts them I the direction needed.

"Ain't got any Frag-12's" Alex replied but there was one good thing about shooting a shotgun at a large mass of targets. You will hit something. The shells from his shotguns magazine turned from slugs to buckshot as the hoards of creatures closed in. If nothing else all the questions Creed had about the threat here were being answered. The creatures were fast, intelligent and worked in groups or more precisely swarms. Creed started to laugh there was little else he could do except laugh and shoot in short he was scared.

As quickly as the alarm sounded Obi eyes snapped open. His book PADD fell aside as he jumped out of his bunk. Obi quickly donned his armour as he had been laying down on his bunk fully dressed. Slamming a magazine into his rifle, Obi yanked back the cocking handle and actioned the Pulse Rifle as he ran out the door.

His fellow marines were racing to their various fighting positions on the perimeter. Obi saw the familiar shape of Sam racing towards her position and Obi sprinted to catch up with his squad leader. Sliding into the position beside her, Obi looked at her and smiled.

"Why can't everyone just leave us alone?"

<tag Sam>

Looking down his sights Obi's eyes widened at the mass of wildlife, the dust cloud being kicked up from the creatures had turned them into a teeming mass of flashes of creatures and indistinct targets. A weapon rattled and then another.

Obi flicked his safety off and squeezed off a quick burst followed by another..

Serving the fauna of Epyktillion a lethal dose of a lead diet trimmed the mass down. Those xenos that were hit erupted and sprayed their acidic blood on the creatures added a cacophony of pain to the paniced screeches. When one enos dropped another took it's place.
The front edge while chewed into so much ground round by the withering fire closed within 25 yards. The apelike faces of the Huldra showed the raw fear that caused them to run the gaunlet that was the fire power of the Easy Eights.

Re: Turn 4: Turning Marines into Rats

(OOC- big post I know, but I wanna make sure the newer people have something to do, will get to veterans in a later one.)

The appearance of the native Huldra had been quite rare since the Eights visit to their home village some months earlier. It was likely something that was equivalent to the wrath of their gods coming in, or horrifying demons that came in that night with smoke and fire to slaughter them.

But Morse was no demon. He was quickly becoming a perfect portrait of what humanity was at its lowest point. A very intelligent man, who used it to back up his prejudices and furthering his ideas of nationalistic dominance. The Corps had managed to put him in some of the worst situations that one could be in, and he had gone from a sarcastic young face, to a grizzly battle hardened killer.

”DIE, MONKEY, DIE!” Morse said describing the scene in front of him. I’M BAGGIN’ FIFTY A YOU FUCKS TODAY!” He concluded, opting to get more then the thirty confirmed kills he had on the Huldra that he got on their last altercation.

The others had been more focused on rescuing the human researchers that were their initial mission. Morse on the other hand was on massacre duty. He threw two grenades and fired one hundred rounds before he’d even hit the ground that night. And today he had a shooting gallery of live targets. It was like a gift from the almighty.

But then Morse remembered that he was a squad leader now. They had an influx of new people and he was their closest image to a superior at that point. While Morse already had a squad, they needed direction as well, and they couldn’t just stand their wasting away.

”We need chuckers up here!” Morse yelled towards the newer marines, knowing that no one was really walking around that whole time with grenades, and none with smoke. Morse normally would, but they were caught by surprise here. ”Eyeball! Creede!” Morse called out. ”Git to central ammo!” He said referring to the armory at the center. ”Bring up a box a M40s’n’N150’s. Go! Hurry! Now!” Morse ordered.

< Tag Eyeball and Creede

The addition of the M40 frag grenades and N150 smoke grenades would help them press their advantage, but they may need more help. Ammunition would not last forever. He didn’t want to have men jumping off the wall unnecessarily, but they came so close to losing the wall last time that Morse was not sure they would hold out this time.

”Coleslaw! Got a job for ya!” Morse said moving over towards Colson. ”Get to the Rollers.” Morse said referring to the M-242 combat buggies they had. ”Drop a fuck ton a gun bullets in the bitch’n drive it back here.” They had magazines ready at all times, they just didn’t have them right there, and if they needed it they could use the turret on the M-242 to knock the creatures off the wall. ”You got 75 seconds to do it, don’t fuck it up! And bring up my drums too!” Morse finished, requesting his M56 Smartgun drums.

< Tag Colson

”Rest a you! Ammo check, n’ start burst sweep!” Morse ordered to Boothe the medic, Louis the Smartgunner, and Wilks the Rifleman. ”Left to right. Give em death on the equal! Aint none getting’ treated unfair, fuckers die.” Morse hoped that the plan of sweeping the horde would have more effect and help them with their ammunition.

Alex was just about to reload with more buckshot when he got the order. Well twenty five yards from the wall was not exactly a far distance to cover in the time it takes to run to the armory and run back. But he slung his Spas-17 round his back; taking the stairs two by two and sprinting to the armory he grabbed a bandolier full of high powered shotgun ammo and a box of frag grenades and a box of smoke grenades on in each hand and sprinted back to his post.

Reloading Alex tossed two frag grenades and started firing as much buckshot as he could in the closing threat.

"More grenades. Gothcha on my way.." Eyeball fired one last burst then rushed towards the armoury at full speed.

Eyeball arrive as fast as he could, punched in the code, opened the doors and started looking for grenade boxes. finding them only moderately quickly the started dragging out a box of each, when he spotted a flamer on its rack. slinging his pulse rifle across his back in one direction and now the flamer in another like a pair of crossed swords and dragging the two boxes of grenades he closed the door behind him and headed back to the wall as fast has he could.

"bringing nades up now, will start at Morses position and move along passing them out, ETA..... well this shits heavy so as soon as i can"eyeball messaged over the squad channel.

Sal checked his clip, less than half of it was left after his burst. Not enough, he let the clip fall from the rifle and slapped in a new one, pulling back the action and aiming down the sights. He saw the black creatures explode into a green-yellow spray that brought more shrieks from the herd. The creatures were almost upon them, and the herd wasn't thinned nearly enough.

"Well fuck." Sal swore as he heard Morse give the order to lob grenades over the side. He heard the order for sweeping and started down the line. The locals would probably just rampage on through the camp and keep going till they hit the ocean or a cliff.

The other things? Sal doubted it. He took a breath and aimed for the nearest flicker of dark amongst the herd, then fired. He did that from left to right, picking out any of the creatures he could draw a bead on.

He took a position with his foot braced against the fore wall. If anything leaped up him, he'd push from the wall before it could take his face.

Glad for the orders that help bring order to chaos, Wilks checks his weapon, almost full. Wilks takes aim from left to right following Boothe and Louis laying down as much fire as possible while still maintaining disapline in the firefight.

Eyeball returned to Morse on the wall and placed several grenades in an available pouch making sure not to interrupt his field of fire. Then moved on to Boothe who was firing like a man possessed most marines had slots on the webbing which easily held the M40's safely and he filled these up so that Boothe could load as he needed them., Louise like morse had a smart gun which does not have an inbuilt launcher, so he placed them in an available pouch before moving on to Wilks. "load up dude!" he said placing the box between himself and Wilks, then started loading himself.

The approaching horde was now under 15m from the wall, right on the safe blast area of the M40, Eyeball aimed alitte back into the rush and fired several rounds before ducking back down and racing the wall for the approaching hit.
