Chances are all they had was some small arms and some charges for seismic soundings. Nothing that could take out a dropship unless they they got it inside. But why the hell would they? I mean, hitting Marines to keep this rock?"

"There was no indication in computer records to suggest that either," Clint added looking at the information that he had downloaded from the ship's computers before they had launched. He glanced towards 2nd Squad surrounding the damaged APC. "I can try and see if we can locate the black box, the intelligence unit I have might be able to decipher it if we can find it."

The men and women in first squad suddenly heard the loud, strained voice of Corporal Sykes through their comms units.
"We have hostiles, some kind of giant bug. Repeat, multiple hostiles. I'm gonna need a medic, son of a BITCH!"

Hearing this and getting no guidance from the rest of the squad, Clint began to jog the 200 yards or so towards the downed APC. He watched as 2nd's smartgun opened upon something and could see the orange glow of fire from the door of the other APC. Medic's en route to you, coming from your three o’clock he called out over the comms. “What kind of injury can I expect Corporal?” Clint tried to maintain muzzle discipline and situational awareness as he approached the area in a jog that would get him there quickly, but a pace that wouldn’t wind him too much.

As he was turning back towards the shattered remains of the dropship cockpit Dirk heard Corporal Sykes voice over the coms. Instinctively looking for hostiles in his area he swept his M41A in a circular arc as he spun slowly around looking for any movement or sign of the large bugs that Sykes had reported.

"First squad, on me." He said as he spat out his cigarette."And someone get on a motion tracker. I want to know if we have incoming"

"Seargent, request permition to move in and support second." He said getting ready to follow the corpsman who was already moving to help the wounded.

Samantha began instinctively to move to help her fellow marines, though she threw a look over her shoulder at Dirk as she did so; and then seeing McKenna move ahead, she called over to Pitt; "I'll cover him mon"; and trotted after the Corpsman*.....

Coming to the site of the APC and 2nd squad engaged with the.....whatever they were.....she took a deep breath and then fell to one knee while putting her Pulse Rifle into the crook of her shoulder, taking careful aim and letting out a long breath......

Centering her aim on the high middle (as in, aiming at the middle of its spine) of the creature on top of Nicole; she held her aim for a moment and then squeezed the trigger to put a burst down-range and hopefully into the creature without hitting her fellow marine...

<If we're still using the old system with a certain number of actions; Sam has 6; 5 actions Aim, 1 action Fire Burst; Gun Combat skill Level: Master>

*OOC: This has been debated before and there's no 'right' answer...but in the U.S. Marines there are no 'medics'; there are 'Corpsman' (pronounced Core-man) that do the same thing. Obviously the USCM has a LOT of similarities to the USMC ('Let's go Marine!' instead of 'soldier'....as 'soldiers' serve in the Army; marines are always 'Marines'...."We don't leave our people behind!"...Old USMC tradition about always at least trying to get every marine out; including the dead; etc.)....but somethings ARE different....namely the Medic in the Movie is a Marine; Corporal Dietrich.....in the actual USMC all Corpsman are actually in the Navy.

Anyway, just throwing this out there for flavor reasons....feel free to use whatever works for you! :)

Lieutenant Hayden Knutson's voice crackled in over the comms.
"Jonsson, hold position and wait for us to come and get you."

Striding through the wreckage Caleija got a more and more uncomfortable feeling.
No body was here, not even the last charred remains of bodies which you would have expected, being it accident or attack.
Or the blow from the plant would have been really strong.

What the hell has happened here?

Well, in case of attack, she had faith in her smartgun, in case of accident, they surely would find the black box.

But Caleija didn't sense what in these minutes already has found the second squad.
"We have hostiles, some kind of giant bug. Repeat, multiple hostiles. I'm gonna need a medic, son of a BITCH!"
"First squad, on me."
She heard the voices and then they ran. In the distance she saw the movements and McKenna and Hall already were on their way.
Caleija closed to Pitt, her smartgun searching for targets to prevent them from even more surprises.

"Jonsson, Pitt, figure out what brought down that dropship. And be alert, we've got three wounded, here. These things are fast, do not underestimate them."

"Fuck" Uhtred mutters under his breath upon hearing the status of his comrades. Uhtred knew it was a stupid idea to split up in the first place. Maybe he should have said something. But he knew the Lieutenant wouldn't have listened to him.

"We need to investigate what is going on" Uhtred says to Jonsson and Pitt.
<Tag Jonsson and Pitt.>

Uhtred was tempted to leave his squad to go investigate the disturbance but he didn't want to leave his squad another man down.

Uhtred steps into the wreckage of the drop-ship to investigate what has happened.

"Caleija, keep that smart gun ready. Keep sweeping the surroundings and engage any hostiles, but stay close. The rest of you, defend the area and hold the line. APC is inbound." Dirk said as he scanned the horizon.

Turning back to the cockpit he searched the wreckage for th black box. If he could find it, and it still was in working order, it should have a record of the mission and what brought down the dropship.

(Roll scouting and awareness for finding the black box.)
