Clint was glad to see the sergeant begin to come to, hoping that everything was going to start improving for them. He noticed the look of pain and discomfort on her face and started to approach and have her lay back down to rest a little more. As he got to her, she let loose a piercing shriek and she jerked backwards. Clint tried to protect her neck and head from possible spinal injury and watched in horror as a horrid snake looking thing burst from her rib cage. He watched momentarily as it dropped to the floor. He didn't hear much after that as he turned away from the body of his commander and spewed bile and what food was left in his stomach in the floor. He felt the heat of the flame unit as he tried to turn and get away from the burning tongues. OH FUCK! he thought to himself and maybe yelled aloud as the heat continued to warm the back side of his body.

<Vomit 1 action, attempt to step away from flames and crouch for remaining actions.>

Uhtred listened to Sykes' speech intently. He was happy to hear someone was taking command who knew what the fuck they were doing. Although as he checked his gear and his pulse rifle he couldn't help but wonder at all the scientific gains that could be made by capturing an alien. The chestburster startled Uhtred and he was sorry to see Jonsson perish before his very eyes; but he couldn't help but admire the life cycle of the alien creatures. How is it that they are able to use the nutrients of an alien (human) lifeform to grow and survive? These are questions that need answered. Uhtred wondered how difficult it would be to capture the chestburster before it grew into a larger creature. And if it would even be worth it.

Jacob's eyes popped when he saw the spasmodic movements, and the blood. The thing tearing itself free from the inside.

"Holy shit..." He breathed. Weapons fire scorched towards the creature from around him.

Gritting his teeth he brought his weapon up and took aim. He didn't need to hear Syke's yell, he was always going to shoot at it.

He squeezed the trigger, adding the fire of his weapon to the torrent. If this didn't kill the thing, well, it would add another worry to the list. The ever expanding list.

<Aim and fire>

Perez stood guard for a while and just as he wanted to ask for a relief, hell broke loose, a-g-a-i-n, like so often in the last few hours. First, he heard Jonson's agonizing screams and started running towards them. Clearly, she was in great pain. Did one of the creatures managed to sneak up on her and stick it's fat tail in? Obviously it had to be so. Was there a cracking sound or did he fancy? While running, he readied the smartgun, switching into burst fire mode. Although being a cumbersome weapon, the gyro mounting did a great job, balancing out the barell, while running at full speed. After the staccato of Jonson's screams, more familiar sounds started. The signature whooooosh of a incinerator unit being fired, pulse rifle fire. Screaming and shouting.

He entered the room, swiping the barell from left to right, searching for a valid target, only to recognize, that there was no valid target. No creature. At least, not one of the big ones. There was .... something else and there was Jonson's body.

Perez had seen a lot of things in his previous missions, bad things, ugly things, broken bodys, torn apart and this kind of shit, but nothing like that before. The pictuore of Jonson's mutilated body burnt into his brain and would remain there for the rest of his life, just like a stroposkopic flash of light carved it in. She laid there, her body twitching and trembling in spasmic moves, a large hole gaping. Blood and intestines everywhere. That was horror-show. At least that was, what he wished it to be, but unfortunately, it was .... real. Damned real. It was clear, even to him, that nothing could help her now. The sarge was gone, perished, one more bag to bring home.

Only the rush of adrenalin prevented him from throwing up. And then, instincts took over. He saw one of the guys crouching next to the scene. Was it the medic? He run over and yes, it was McKenna.

"McKenna, are you ok, man?"
<Tag Clint McKenna>

... he asked, while touching him slightly at his shoulders.

At the rough touch he turned to meet the eyes of Perez, realizing he hadn't been consumed by the incinerator in Syke's hands. "I'm good buddy, just thought I was going to be a melted puddle of goo for a moment." He pulled himself up using the side of the table that the sarge had been on and glanced back down for a moment. The sight made him feel like he was going to empty out the rest of his stomach, but he fought it down and steadied himself. He pulled his rifle up from a slung position at his side and scanned the room for the creatures or any other freshly wounded marines. We really ought to be getting out of here he thought to himself for the umpteenth time since they made landing on the planet.

"Is everybody good he called?" not really knowing what else they could do at the moment.

McKenna seemed to be ok. As there was no other danger, Perez took his time to look at the scene in front of him. The remains of the burnt creature, Jonson's body, or what was left of it. He did not remember to see a small creature like this before. This was kind of a new type. He had seen big ones and spider-hands, but nothing like this before. It must have either sneaked up on the Sarge or rushed her with great speed in order to harm her so badly. On the other hand, there were no traces of where this small shitball had came out. Perez could not make any sense of it.

"Ok, so where did this one came from, guys?"

OOC: Perez was not present, as the chestbuster hatched, so he is curious
