Fernandez saw his buddy Stark go spinning off into space and was unable to grab his arm in time. He deactivated his magnetic boots and leapt after him. He almost missed his target but was able to grab onto Stark as he was beginning to steady his spin. The two of them locked arms in an awkward hugging motion and began to spin again. (Roll: Moderate success)

Bosun’s Mate Bryant fired the rescue line at the two of them. The line ran out at a constant rate towards its target. The blunted metal “sinker” hit Fernandez in the back. As he rotated, he reached out and grabbed the metal ending of the rope and started to manhandle it around the two of their waists. Pulling on the taught line allowed him to reverse the spin and wrap the line around them. Bryant hit the retrieval button and the line slowly began to draw back in. She felt the rope gun tugging at her hands with resistance as the two bodies returned to the surface of the deck. (Roll: Success)

“We are in serious danger. We must activate life support at any cost,” said Preacher in a serene voice. The Marine Isaac Cohen was firing at the two charging aliens but the difficulty of fighting in zero gravity was becoming very evident. Right behind him were the three grappling Navy personnel, two of which were floating in the vacuum, and the two hostile targets were closing in very fast. (OOC: EvHall told me that he wanted his character to shoot at the aliens.)

The voice of Commander Zimmerman could be heard shouting in all their ears now. “Get that fucking life support online! There are five thousand people on that fucking space station and they are starting to suffocate! Get it online at any cost, that is an order!”

“Knight, activate life support. I will address the alien threat,” Preacher said as calm as a cucumber. With that he turned and began to speed walk toward the charging aliens. One of them adjusted its course to intercept him. The shiny black creature pounced like a cat but Preacher jumped toward it at the same moment. The two of them collided in the “air” and the force of the collision sent them spinning upward into space. “It is confirmed as a hostile, dangerous creature,” he said in a somewhat strained but still calm voice. “It has already punctured my suit. I will be offline in under fifteen seconds. Do not consider me in your calculations.”

The last alien was almost on top of the humans now. This was their last chance for sure.

Bryant hoped her rescue line had been effective but had other problems that were very immediate. The CO screamed at them all over the comm and she finally got her gloved hands into place on her weapon.
She aimed as best she could at the creature to her front but Preacher ran into her line of fire and she held her fire.

"Shit!" She bit out, then watched dumbly as he and one of the aliens collided in mid air. What the fu--

One of the remaining aliens seemed to swivel its head at her and she clamped down on the trigger. She tried to walk her wild shots into the monster.

Seaman Darrell Stark

Darrell was caught off guard by Fernandez's jump to get him and was glad he hadn't shot the man when he'd tried to fire his way back onto the station. Luckily Bryant had retrieved both of them and they were almost back on the deck. He saw the synthetic Preacher go flying off into space with one of those creatures attached to it. The last creature was closing in quickly and he wanted to shoot at it but had to wait until his boots locked onto the hull of the station so he wouldn't get tossed out to space again. He felt the right boot hit followed by the left and began to untangle himself from the line as quickly as he could manage. Once free he made sure he had a good line of sight and pressed his feet firmly to the surface and fired.

Cohen stumbled back. His first barrage of shots missed the intended target. The aliens continued to move with alarming speed. Getting his bearings again, he didn't even have seconds to act. Cohen lifted his gun again and fired another round at the closest alien. If this round didn't hit, things were going to get even worse for him.
