Turn 6: Lets Get a Drink

Date: February 13th, 2190
Time: 1013 hours (Local Time)
Location: Eye of Oblivion Bar Parking Lot, Ariarcus Mining Colony, Kruger 90 System

The Column of APAC's crunched to a halt outside a row of simple prefab warehouse and workshop structures which appeared to have been repurposed and retrofitted as commercial spaces. A large, neon-pink, sign fixed to the roof of the largest of the buildings blazed out the message that this was the Eye of Oblivion bar and grill. It looked like the kind of place that would have any marine who sampled anything from the 'Grill' emptying their guts into the nearest head in short order.

A surly looking bouncer lounged by the door, watching as the Devil Dawgs spilled out of the APAC's and came to order, with scant interest. After all, what were the chances that a platoon of special forces marines was coming to ruin his day? When he saw the marines begin to move purposefully towards the bar, led by their officer and a serious looking Sergeant major, his eye's widened in surprise and panic and he scrambled to duck inside the entry hatch which slammed shut behind him.

The operation was in fully swing. They Marines were mobilized and equipped and ready to break the enemy down into tiny little pieces if need be. Friend or foe, the operation was the operation and orders were orders.

Morse disembarked with the others, carrying his both lethal and non lethal load out. Things had a tendency to go bad fast if one was not prepared for both alternatives, so while he was grateful for the additional combat weight... he was also ready to use his best judgement with the rules of engagement set before them. Of course killing someone was not exactly plan A, and he was a strong enough shot that he could probably just give someone an interesting story by putting a round near their foot.

As they prepared to move Morse got a clear visual on the 'bouncer' who moved inside and close the door.

'Maybe he's just nervous?' 'Maybe he has a criminal record?' ..... 'Maybe he shouldn't be closing the door on a heavily armed armored column'.

"Naa, fuck that." Morse said "We're breaching. 1st Squad on the ready line!"

Morse moved forward, and took up the fancy new electric hammer he had been offered.

One the squad was formed and ready they'd lead the charge.

THWAAAAAAAAAAAAAM

He struck the door handle and once breach he'd give a mighty declaration.

"Colonial Marines! Colonial Marines! Everyone against the wall! with your hands where we can see them!"

The Devil Dawgs convoy arrived at the "Eye Of Oblivion" bar and came to a halt. Daniela opened the door of the armoured vehicle, jumped out and took a moment to scan the area in front of her with her eyes. She knew, that time was her enemy, so there was none to lose. After formulating a plan of attack in her mind, she activated her helmets micro to open a channel to the platoon ...

"Devil Dawgs, its time to rise and shine. We don't ask, we take, what we are looking for and we do it quickly.

SgtMaj Sykes with First Squad, breach the door, get in there and secure the interior.
<Tag Sykes, First Squad>

Sergeant Hall and Second Squad, circle the compound, secure the backdoors and grab me any awol runner.
<Tag Second Squad>

LCpl Henniger, get me a drone in the air and survey the compound from above.
<Tag Henniger>

LCpl Paulson and Sokolova, assist Second Squad in securing the exterior area.
<Tag Paulson, Sokolva>

PFC Williams, stay back with me and cover our Vehicles.
<Tag Williams>

We have a lot of civies around, check your targets triple. Move."

Henniger's boots crunched gravel as he turned from his corner of the truck.

"Roger LT, I'll get your bird in the air."
<tag Harper>

"Sokolava, Paulson, link up with 2nd I'll join you shortly."

He moved to the cargo hatch at the rear of the vehicle and pried the compartment open. He located the plasticrete case with AERIAL DRONE stenciled on it. He slung his pulse rifle over an armored paldron and lifted the large crate out and set it as gently as he could manage on the hood. Property of the Colonial Marines was built by the lowest bidder, his ass would be in a sling if he broke the drone before it got airborne. And his squads asses with it.

"Digger you heard the lady, keep your eyes peeled I don't like this district."
<tag Digger>

He removed the drone from its mount and drew the VR frames from their cradle. Placing his pulse rifle against his leg, he looped the sling around his shin armor. He then removed his combat gloves and put the control exos over his knuckles. He lit the bird's power supply and threw it into the air over his shoulder when it's propellers blazed to life. It circled lazily out over the perimeter, it's dumb AI avoiding wires and cables strung out over the squat buildings on its own. He drew the VR frames on and the world went ghostly gray-black. The feed was good and he selected the orbit pattern he wanted to give the platoon a good buffer of coverage.
The Marines fanning to their positions were immediately tagged as Blue Forces. The few civilians loitering about the area were tagged as UNKNOWN foot-mobiles. And of course, in the corner of his vision, Weylamd-Yutani thanked the operator for helping Build Better Defense Networks. He snorted before keying his comm to the Command Freq.

"Lieutenant, bird is up, feed is green, no problem."

Paulson braked hard as they came into the front area of the bar, he shut down the apc and coded the ignition, didn't want anyone running off with it when they weren't looking. he grabbed his shiney new shot gun and left his flamer stowed, he felt very light and exposed without it and his customary tanks of fuel.

"APC secured code is 9753" he commed over the main channel, last thing he wanted was him to be rendered incapacitated and no one could start the damn truck.

"Paulson join second" came a brief order and he jumped to comply he looked for Sokolava and went to join his fellow marine, "clockwise or anti?" Paulson inquired as he looked at the bar and its compound.

Sergeant Major Sykes saw the bouncer take cover and smiled. He was ready for some mischief to break the tension. The smile faded as he quickly made plans in his head. He would have to send some of his people to form a perimeter and cover the rear. He would need to leave some people to cover the vehicles.

The Lieutenant beat him to it. She crisply barked out orders that covered everything he had thought of and more. The grin returned to his face as she ordered him to go exactly where he wanted to; straight into the breach. He swept his mace casually through the air and followed Morse into the door. There was a reason why sixty percent of injuries were NCOs, because they went first and took the risks. It was the way it should be.

(OOC: Cool, I came up with my strategy then scrolled down and Perez had already posted it. I hadn't thought of the drone though.)

Davros Circled around the building with second squad. He kept his shotgun with the little bean bag bullets loaded in the low ready position.
<roll awareness for anyone running form the building>
He kept alert for anyone that might pop out of the bar and hoped that they had enough to take the marines down without killing them. They weren't the enemy after all. He just hoped that they could get to the marines before their little acid bleeding friends ripped through them.
<OOC sorry i didnt post last move and this one is short. Bad brain space and lots going on lately.>

"SgtMaj Sykes with First Squad, breach the door, get in there and secure the interior."

As soon as the APAC had stopped, Darren was in motion. kicking open the door and falling into formation behind Morse on the Staff Sergeant's left, clicking the selector switch on his shotgun from Safe to Semi-Auto as they ran towards the bar's front door.
They fetched up hard against the worn concrete of the prefab building with SSgt Morse in the lead and SgtMaj Sykes right behind him. Darren took the third place in the line, shotgun ready at his shoulder, as Morse hefted up his shock maul to signal they were ready to go.

"We're breaching. 1st Squad on the ready line!"

The Sergeant's shock maul disintegrated the cheap lock with a single blow and then first squad were charging through the threshold in a storm of noise and readied firepower.

"Colonial Marines! Colonial Marines! Everyone against the wall! with your hands where we can see them!"

Darren followed the 2 sergeants through the wreckage of the doors and immediately began moving to his left, clearing his comrades from his line of fire and covering their flank as the marines advanced into the open space beyond.

Clint left his sniper rifle stored in the vehicle with the shotgun slung against his back. He saw a chubby looking man at the door of the luxury establishment known as the Eye of Oblivion eyeing them as they all exited and started making their way in his direction. As he picked up on the fact that they were headed in his direction, chubby quickly made it for the entrance as his ponytail swung back and forth with his steps.

He heard Morse on the squad frequency, "Naa, fuck that...We're breaching." Clint smiled inwardly and outwardly at the comments as he gripped the maul with both hands hearing Morse's next command "1st Squad on the ready line!"

As the door opened, they all gave commands to the people inside "Colonial Marines! Colonial Marines! Everyone against the wall! with your hands where we can see them!"

Sokolova put her rifle back into the APC and prepared one of the hammers and a shotgun with a few shells, but leaving her main supplies in her seat, save for a flash grenade. "Looks like time for business..." she muses to herself.

Getting out of the vehicle and making a quick dash toward second squad, loading in the shells to make the most of her time as she heads that way. Slinging the hammer behind her, she acknowledges through the radio, "Copy. Sokolova headed to second."
